The $1,495 covers transportation of your loved one from the place of death, a basic cremation container, the cremation itself, death certificate filing, a standard urn, and return of ashes to you by USPS. There are no hidden fees. The only additional costs are optional — extra death certificate copies ($10 each, Utah state fee) and a $200 surcharge for individuals over 250 lbs.
How long does the process take? +
Your funeral director will contact you within 24 hours of your order to complete the required authorization paperwork. Once all required signatures are complete — including the certifying physician's signature on the death certificate and authorization from next of kin — the cremation and return of ashes typically takes 7–10 business days. Because these approvals depend on other parties and are outside our control, actual timing can vary if any signature is delayed.
Do I need to come into an office or make any phone calls? +
The entire ordering process is completed online — no office visit required. Your licensed funeral director will reach out by phone to complete required authorization paperwork before services begin. Other than that initial contact, there are no sales calls and no pressure.
Can I pre-plan before a death has occurred? +
Yes — you can fill out the form and save your progress as a draft at any time. However, payment is only accepted after a death has occurred. This protects families and keeps our process simple and compliant.
Who performs the cremation? +
All work is performed by a licensed Utah funeral director, who personally cares for your loved one from start to finish. You simply complete the online form, and Rise Cremation makes sure your funeral director has everything they need to take care of the paperwork on your behalf.
What if I need to make a correction after submitting? +
Log in to your account and use the "Request Correction" button on your order. You can also contact us directly at support@risecremation.com. Corrections to legal information may require additional verification.
Is my family's information secure? +
Yes. All information is encrypted and stored securely. We only share the information necessary with your funeral director to perform the service. We do not sell or share your data with third parties.
